About 5 years ago, I did the unthinkable. I cancelled my cable service with Rogers.
OMG!! “You did what??”
That’s right. I got rid of cable. Bye-bye. Adieu. Au revoir. Adios. Sayonara. Arrivederci. Ciao.
Signed up for Netflix instead.
The kids didn’t seem to mind. Of course, they could still watch cable at their dad’s house, but they soon discovered a whole new world of shows and programming that wasn’t available with our basic cable service. We’ve never looked back.
It’s not like we’re missing out on anything. The source of information is the internet. It only stands to reason now that our source of entertainment should be available there, too.
Which brings me to the whole point of this.
CraveTV™ is now available to ALL Canadians for $7.99 a month. As of January 2016, you don’t have to subscribe to cable to watch CraveTV™. You can sign up for it at CraveTV.ca or by downloading the app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store. You just need internet access.
If you’re like me, and not at all familiar with CraveTV™, this is a sampling of programs they offer, which includes some favourite HBO and Showtime titles:
- The Sopranos
- South Park
- The Affair
- Sex in the City
- Penny Dreadful
Upcoming programs will include The Newsroom, True Blood, Boardwalk Empire, and The Jinx.
So really…do you still need cable?
